New Zealand Host/Tour Guide responsibilities:
- Advise everyone to arrive by noon on day 1 if they want to participate in day 1 activities
- Suggestions for day 1:
- early-mid afternoon visit to the Auckland Botanic Garden with a guided tour emphasizing NZ native plants;
- group welcome dinner at a quiet restaurant (not Sky City)
- Suggestions for day 1:
- Include schedule times in the participant itinerary (especially morning departures)
- Drivers are required to stay on schedule; there is no time for unscheduled stops.
New Zealand Host/Tour Guide responsibilities:
- Manage payment vouchers – submit them at locations (the bus driver will give these to you)
- Coordinate with the hotels – time for breakfast and luggage pick up. Ensure that everyone has checked out before departing.
- Remind the bus driver on the first day that you will need tags for luggage that will be portered. The tags must be numbered for each participant (name, x of y bags)
- Announce the schedule daily – when to meet the bus, time for breakfast, etc.
- Take pictures of the room list and send it to everyone after check-in.
- Find out who wants to participate in optional activities.
